Again-Bad Luck

Remember that one time I wrote about how I have bad luck.

Well let me tell you another story about my bad luck.

Lets rewind 14ish months.  Its my first week back in my last semester at BYU.  I'm in the top floor of the JFSB, sitting on a couch in the sun, phone to my ear, talking to (of course) my mother.

I was trying to decide if I would turn my PERFECT schedule on its head to cram it full of extra prerequisites.
Why add a ton of hard science classes to my perfect final semester full of fun/interesting classes and lots of time for living it up in Provo?
To apply to the University of Utah nursing school.

I wasn't particularly attached to this school, but thought it might be a practical choice, as I could get in-state tuition.  Plus what if something (aka someone) kept my in the state of Utah.

But it was January.  And I had no prospects.
Not even any prospective prospects!  NOTHING!
For four years I had been the Queen of the One and Run.
Never got serious, rarely even got a second date.
There was no way it was going to happen.
So why go crazy about the application and the prerequisites?
Long story short...I don't apply.

Fast-forward to 3 weeks before I leave.
I had decided to attend Mizzou.
1033 miles away.
I was flying out.  There was no question.

And suddenly....Chicken Boy shows up.  Dinners...Scooter rides...Bonfires...Long walks...Movies...Trips to the park....Driving around....Late night talks....Laughing so hard.
We had known each other and things had (apparently) been building for months now...and that led to me falling off that stupid love cliff head first!

The plan was that no one would come along and make me wish I had stayed.
Lets just say I wished HUNDREDS of times that I had just turned my life upside down and applied.
But I didn't...and I had to walk away from one of the best things that ever happened to me.

So why am I telling this story now?
Cause again, I am leaving.  And I'm getting worried.
What if another Chicken Boy shows up????
(I mean not exactly cause he turned out to not be that grand...but like that silly Adele song...someone like him...ish)
What if I have to walk away again.

Not sure I can do that heartbreak again.
In fact I'm pretty sure I can't.

But I also know that it is sure a good thing I didn't stay.
A good thing I didn't quit nursing school to be with him like I so desperately wanted to.

So that is going to make me very unlikely to want to risk sticking around for someone.
But what if I should?
Its become one of those turn myself inside out, run around in circles kind of questions

So here is the plan to avoid it all......

BOYS!
Listen up!
Are you paying attention??

STAY AWAY!!!

I mean if you are supposed to become my person...don't.

BUT THE REST OF YOU!!!!!
NOPE NADA NILCH!

:D
