Follow Your Arrow

Alright....gonna chat for a bit about dating (sort of).....and advice........and a song I like lots and lots

So I LOVE LOVE LOVE this song.....Follow Your Arrow: Kacey Musgraves
for one line and one line alone

ok two......

(Can you guess which 2??????)

https://soundcloud.com/julie-humphries-1/follow-your-arrow

(ok so there are more reasons to love it)

The past several weeks I have been receiving a great deal of advice.
Some sought after, some not.  Some helpful, some....eh hmmm less helpful.

But the biggest thing I have learned from advice receiving????
...good luck deciphering it all.

Ms Her says go left.  Mr Him says go right.  Mrs She says go up.  Msrt He says go down.

Bobby says date Billy.  Susie says run as fast as you can AWAY from Billy.
And to top it all off Jimmy some how figured out a way to suggest you do both!

NOW WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO WITH ALL THAT??????????

Do what makes you happy they say

OH I AM TRYING!!!!

But really advice can be nice.  I generally appreciate it, and I generally have no problem giving it.
HOWEVER...

To receivers of advice...I give you a bit of advice (no the irony is not lost on me!)

Just follow your arrow.....
Wherever it points

Basically...trial and error.  Go for what you think will work great....
And if it doesn't...redirect and try something else.

So often we are completely unwilling to try things out.
What if it fails, what if I look like a fool.

BUT what if it succeeds, what if you look like a hero.

So do what is hard.  Don't listen to anyone but yourself.
Ask her out.  Break up with him.  Find a new job.  Go back to school.
Follow your dream whatever it takes.

(The irony of this post coming the week of V-day is also not lost on me!)

So Be Happy....Be Healthy

(oh and in case you didn't guess...the lines are "Horrrrrrrrr-ible person" and "Kiss lots of boys")

"You Never Know"

May I have a rant moment for single girls everywhere????

We all know how much I love all things "He's Just Not That Into You"

I'm usually Gigi.....lets be honest
Doing a lot of stupid stuff in hopes of finding "it"

Scheming and plotting and planning.

BUT sometimes I'm Janine
The best friend...the enabler

The one who says "Oo signs I love signs...tell me about the signs"

How many times has someone said to us...about a guy we have NO shot with...
"You never know!"

ENABLERS!!!!!!!!

We are girls....and therefore we dream and hope...and you just made our

little bitty hope

LOTS OF HOPE!!!!!

Cruel!!!!!!!!

So to the girl who inspired this post.....There is someone better out there for you.
You don't deserve to sit around and hope that he might call or text......

Its tough love time honey!
Cause you don't need the hope of "You never know"
You need..."Its never going to happen"

Big hugs and kisses love!
It'll all work out in the end...just not with him.

Thank you all for indulging me.  You may now go back to your business.

Be Happy Be Healthy!!!!

Sometimes I Wonder...

why I do the things I do.  Why on earth am I (and by I, I truly mean we) so stupid sometimes???

Some might say...you are human...and being human makes you stupid.
But you know what I say????  Humans make other humans stupid.
That is my official stance on stupidity.
My stupidest moments have been in reaction to another human.

Now I of course don't blame them. (Its not their fault they are human....and therefore cause stupidity)  But I also fully acknowledge that without that interaction with another human...I would not have acted so darned stupid!

And seriously sometimes you step back and ask yourself "Why the heck am I being so stupid?" .... aka the question I am asking myself tonight.

There is this really stellar jerk in my life right now.  And I don't mean he is stellar at being a jerk.  I mean he is a stellar person who for some reason feels the need to be a jerk more frequently than the average person.

I was this boy's friend...and still consider myself to be so..

And so despite the fact that this boy has hurt me quite badly (to be frank)...when others disparage him-I want to leap down their throats (metaphorically of course!).

And everyone (alright so lots...every is an exaggeration) rags on him.  And maybe in their minds he deserves it.  But in mine he doesn't and so I sit quietly-unable to truly defend him because all they say is technically true-but knowing they are so so wrong.

And so I sit in the corner quiet and pouty-being sad and mad all at the same time.

I've always been very protective of my friends.
But shouldn't the jerk part cancel out the friend part????

And alas I am double stupid....keeping the friend and then defending him.

Darned humans...you make me stupid!!!!!!

Not sure why this song is the one that goes with this somehow......but it does so...deal with it????????

Anyway everyone

Musical Monday:King of Anything

This song speaks for itself today.

Ever had someone in your life who thought they knew you...but frankly there was know way they could.

But they acted like they did...but everything they said was all...well.....invalid.

So to everyone who has ever been like that....who died and made you king of anything???

Why Is It Such A Big Deal???

May I ask a question?

When did going on a first date become such a big deal????

I'll admit I've been super pumped/psyched/moderately stressed when the first date was with someone I had a high level of interest in (see explanation HERE)

But as a general rule, a first date is just that.  A first date.  Someone you know-who you want to get to know better.  At that point you are just acquaintances.

Now may I throw in another twist??

The phenomenon that is LDS singles congregations.  They are like rumor mills on STEROIDS!!!

So many who are part of these bad social experiments (tehehe) choose to keep first dates a secret.

And so I ask again.
Why is it such a big deal????

Who cares if the WHOLE ward is talking about how you went on a date with Susy?

The only thing they are truly saying is that Susy and Bob went on an excursion in an effort to have fun and become better friends.

Now whether or not is going to lead to romantic connections is really no one's business-I'll concede that point.

But why do we have to keep our activities a secret?  If I go out with my girl friend and someone asks me what I did and who I was with, I have no problem telling them.
And I feel the same way if the news I would be sharing involved a date.

Honestly this secrecy just breeds seriousness.  The lies and the avoidance just makes it a bigger deal than it has to be.

I guess I'm just on a simplify/honesty kick lately.

Lets keep things simple.  Lets just be mature and honest.  Lets just not make it a big deal!!!!!

Thats all----go forth and be chill :)

TWATTSG:The Word Date

You know those meme things???

Here's one

When the word date is said.......

What a girl pictures

What a guy pictures

May I please ask a serious question??

Why does the word DATE scare guys so much???

I have found that most guys have no problem spending time with girls, talking to girls or anything of the like.

And these same guys have no problem asking a girl to "Hang Out".......................
which in the immortal words of Brittney and Nicole is code for "Lets watch a movie and make out after"

Now come on gentleman.  Is dinner or yogurt or the Mormon version of drinks or coffee all that scary??

You are totally not terrified of the NCMO (which is a pretty big gamble if you don't know the clingy level of the girl you are slobbering on) but a simple two hours of polite small talk is terrifying????

I understand that rejection is scary and that putting yourself out there is scary.
But that is not what I am speaking of.
I am speaking of the fear you all seem to have of the word!

But can I ask you to please for the LOVE

GET OVER IT!

The word DATE is actually a GREAT word.

Ladies...have you ever been on what you thought was a date...but the guy you were with didn't?
And conversely have you ever hung out with a guy who thought you were on a date?

CONFUSION right???

The WORD date gives clarity.
It shows a girl that the gentleman is interested in getting to know her better

(NOTE: it DOES NOT mean marriage!!!!!  Guys AND girls are both culprits of this erroneous-ness!)

If used....a date can help avoid the dreaded DTR.....but more on that later!

For now....gentleman...FOR THE LOVE OF PETE...
please use the word date.....I promise it will not lead to this.....

TWATTSG: Confused vs Being Confusing

Let me lay out a story first for us.

Once upon a time there was this girl (aka ME).  And there was this boy (duh!  don't all my stories go like this?)
The boy and girl had never really had an opportunity to really do anything...but they were friends and in the back of the girls mind she kind of wondered, but never did anything.
Then one day after several months of not seeing the boy and several weeks of not even talking to him, he suddenly contacts her.  And suddenly they are meeting up for lunch.
She walks in and he immediately gives her a HUGE hug.  Not only was it big...it was tight....and lasted longer than was likely proper.  But she blew it off as him just being happy to see her after such a long time.  But then this lunch turned into a very date like lunch.  Goofy light-hearted flirting, compliments, he paid.......
And then the end of the "date" he suddenly reveals he has a girlfriend.

Now we all know that I am a serious subscriber to the "he's just not that into you" philosophy.

The whole first part of the story makes you think...hmmmm...maybe he's into you.  Unlikely, but the clues are piling up.
And then all the clues come crashing down.

I am not confused.  I think the situation is QUITE clear!

But can I just say....HE is BEING confusing!!!!!

I think its an important distinction to make.  Some judge us girls when we talk about guys being confusing.
Just because they are being confusing doesn't mean we are confused.

I am not confused...but I am annoyed that he is being confusing.....

Off soap box and rant over

12 Things You Should Never Say To a Single Person

So I've moved back home...I've attended my family ward....aka the church I have been going to since I was EIGHT...and everybody and their dog  (men, women...even CHILDREN) are asking me about my status.

It is moderately amusing in some ways.  Some try to be oh so discrete.  They try and ask as creatively as possible in hopes that I answer their question without knowing I did.
Others are just plain blunt.  Like the little girl who asks "Do you have a boyfriend?" And after my "Nope!" "Do you want a boyfriend?"  (This last question was harder to answer hahaha)  This bluntness though is preferred.  The super adorable child asking it also helps haha.

I don't mind being single....when people aren't talking about my being single.  It seems to be everyone's FAVORITE topic of conversation.  So I guess I have gotten a little sensitive about it!

But point is....my recent experiences have led me to create a list.

A list of things NOT to say to a person who is single
(unless you want them to figuratively or literally high five your face!)

DISCLAIMER:  This is not just a list married/not single people should keep in mind.  I admit that I have used some of these phrases in my life.  Even us single kids are guilty of it.
These phrases are meant to be helpful.  Intentions are good!  BUT.....trust me.  NOT helpful!
(sorry to anyone who has ever wanted to pummel me after I said one of these things)

ALSO.... I make this list with a twinkle in my eye and a sardonic grin on my face....its all swilly remember?

1. But you are so pretty.  Why don't you have a boyfriend?
for reals?  you basically just insulted the only thing I have in my arsenal other than beauty....my personality! Also please never say "but you have such a great personality" cause that is just insulting my looks.  Remember we are single and often not thrilled about it (cause you keep bringing it up!) so we are extra sensitive.

2. It happens when you aren't looking for it.
That is just plain not true.  I (and people I know) have had "it" happen when they were looking AND when they were not looking

3. You're next!!!!   (at weddings, showers etc.)
Ummm....you've said that the last 10 times one of my friends has gotten married.  So you have been wrong like 9 times!  You really stink at this psychic stuff.

4. There are other fish in the sea.
Thats nice????  for reals who came up with this phrase?  Its DUMB!  Also as a Mormon single person....the older you get the more your sea turns into a pond.  AND if you don't live in a densely (Mormon) populated area...a bucket with a hole in it!

5. I wish I was in your shoes!
Really.  You would trade your posh married life for the treacherous singles scene?  Don't you remember how just a few months ago you were complaining about how stressful and frustrating dating was?  And two days later (after you got engaged) you were practically crying because you realized you "didn't have to look anymore"
Although I suppose you can say this if you are truly jealous of my shoes.....that will not cause me to wish you harm with my eyes.

6. You just are too intimidating.
This ought to earn you a high five in the face AND a fist bump in the stomach (at least in my book).  The idea that you are "too good"  "too awesome" or "too amazing"  is not very comforting oddly enough.  And anyway...if I was sooooooo awesome why has no one but you seemed to notice??  NOT a compliment!

7. Have you tried online dating?
Ummmmm none of your business????  Am I really that desperate in your mind?  I think online dating is a perfectly good option for many...when other options are not available.  A social/romantic relationship is hard to maintain in real life let alone in online life....so I believe it should be a kind of last resort.  Are you saying that I am THAT optionless???

8. You are too picky
Oh I am, am I???  Is male and breathing too much to ask for????   And wait a minute!  When I was 20 I couldn't be picky enough!  You were all up in my grill telling me to wait for the right one and not settle.  And now that I am twenty-eh he hem I am no longer allowed to be picky?  I've waited longer than almost all my friends and 50% of the population who is younger than me.  I DESERVE to be DANG picky thank you very much!!

9. So why are you still single??
REALLY???  How the HECK should I know?  Maybe its for all the reasons you have already mentioned??? Face High Five!

10. Your time will come/When the time is right
Using the word time is NOT advisable.  Many of us oldies don't like that word so much.  Also for the forlorn about being single crowd...this is like salt in the wound.  They already feel like they have been waiting for forever.....don't REMIND them!

11. I have the PERFECT guy for you!
Oh please stop trying to set us up!!!!!  I have been guilty of this myself-but I have decided I will only set people up who ASK me to set them up.  Cause lets be honest here....no one likes a blind date.  And the blind date set ups that actually work out well are the exception....NOT the rule!

12. Is there someone SPECIAL in your life?
OH GOOD GLORY YES!!!  Lots of them.....now stop trying to get up in my business.  Ask me if I am seeing anyone.  Ask me if I have a boyfriend. I don't mind you asking.  Just don't ask in a weird way while wiggling your eyebrows

So there is my list...and in the immortal words of a moderately well-known pop star....
"Everything in it's right time everything in it's right place
I know I'll settle down one day
But 'til then I like it this way"

AHHHHHH

Bloggy people...may I have a moment?????

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

BLLLLLLLLLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Thank you.

I have been studying for hours for my board exam...AKA the dreaded NCLEX
I finally got my ATT (authorization to test from the state board) the other day.
Until that point I couldn't schedule my test.
So Sept 4th at 1:00 PM I will be taking the MOST IMPORTANT (and most stressful....and most painful...) test of MY LIFE

(to you nurses out there....you know I am not being dramatic!  haha)

I could probably pass the test right now.  I passed nursing school--and passed the 2 practice tests we took.

But I DO NOT want to be sitting there at the computer thinking "DANG I wish I had studied"

And so I am studying.  I have been making a weak effort since graduation.  But this week it has been thrown into overdrive.  Deadlines will do that for you!!!

Last night it was all about the lungs....and the immune system
Today the heart (which is becoming less my favorite the longer I study hahaha) and hopefully (if I can stand it) the kidneys.  The plan had been to punch out the nervous system too, but don't think that will happen.

There is always tomorrow!!!!

Two weeks ago I babysat on a Friday night for the cutest little 16 month old.
After she went to bed I spent roughly 3 hours studying.
Tomorrow night I am driving my sister to a choir opening social, and plan to just wait for her and study.

So lets recap.......
Nursing school grad STILL doesn't have free Friday nights!
Nursing school grad STILL spends much of her day studying!
Nursing school grad STILL feels guilty when she takes a break (cause I really should be studying not watching this movie!)

Oh well...it'll all pay off right????

Rant over ;)  thanks for "listening"

Dear Packing

You are a no fun activity!

You create a HUGE mess!

You are a pain!

You lead to things getting broken and getting lost!

It takes way more effort than it should
And way longer than anyone expects you to take.

I mean I suppose it is nice to get all cleaned up and all cleaned out.

But heres the deal-packing leads to unpacking----which is an EVEN bigger pain!!!

Oh well---the cost of graduation :)

Dear THE List

Alright now for a serious post.
Serious you say..arent you supposed to be a qwilly girl who says only swilly things??
hahaha sorry to disappoint!

Today I am again going to talk about lists.
So warning to those out there who hate the idea of "THE list".

I think it is important to create an idea in your mind of what kind of a person you would like to agree to spend eternity with.

I think general ideas and qualities are good to think about.
We are talking eternity here...and marriage.  This is not something to be taken lightly!

I wrote about "THE list" a little while ago

That list had a lot of "Must Bes"
There were a few CANNOTs there at the end.  But mostly needs to be was the name of the game.
Its roughly 6 months later (WOW time flies!)
And lots has happened of course (gotta love the most constant thing in life...change)

Now 6 months later I am thinking about the list again.
Its getting longer.  UH OH!!!!!  (again I say...31 or BUST!)

But this list is not full of needs to.
Its full of can'ts and won'ts

-Can't play violent video games....stay tuned for a future post about this one
-Can't joke around about dangerous things.....maybe around your boys...but not me and not my kids
-Can't make crude/rude/inappropriate jokes
-Won't use forms of bad words...its not about the word-its about the intent.  And using the first letter to express the same feelings/meanings that you would have if you had said the real word....NOT OK
-Won't tease me excessively.  Teasing is something brothers and dads and uncles do...not husbands

Ok Ok I know I am picky.
But recent experiences have made me realize how important these things are.

I am still not totally sold on the whole marriage thing in the first place.
If you are going to get me on board..he is going to have to be a good guy!

He doesn't have to be perfect (heaven knows I'm not!)
But he has to be perfect for me.
And someone who is perfect for me...is going to fit "THE list"

letter-gratitude-heart-presents_3298920-3

PS...What is on your "list" more musts or must nots???? anything I should add? Goodness knows my list could stand a few additions hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha ;)

Dear Word Misunderstood

You have caused a great deal of introspection lately.

Someone I trust very much told me that I am misunderstood.

And I didn't know exactly what that actually means.

My knee-jerk reaction was
"Heck yeah!  People don't get me!"
My next thought:
"Aw heck...do I even get me?

hahaha.  I think knowing and understanding ourselves is a life long project that is never really done.

So lets put me aside for a minute...and lets focus on everybody else and how they see me...who they understand me to me

I'm easily misunderstood.  I'll be honest..I'm CONFUSING!
I like Luke Bryan and Miranda Lambert AND heymonday and nevershoutnever.
My two favorite outfits: a form-fitting pencil skirt paired with a leather jacket AND a boho-ish print maxi dress.
I'll tell people who read my blog all sorts of things...but would NEVER tell a friend (not a best friend...just a friend hahaha...gotta clarify)

Lots of people see me as the studious, sweet, spiritual, got it all together girl.  A good little Mormon girl
And yeah that is sort of me....that toned down a lot is the real me.  You gotta tone it down cause you've gotta have some room to throw in some other stuff.

You've gotta throw in that I don't always got it together--just ask my mama ;)
Throw in that I want to dye my hair pink.
That I love black nails...that some days most days I'm not Miss Good-Little Mormon girl

And I don't think many people really know that about me.  And when they find it out...they act so surprised.

(warning I am about to throw some serious Child Development mojo all over this joint!)

Piagetian theory believes that cognitive development (our understanding of people and things around us) is based on assimilation.
The child sees a bird in the sky..points and Mom labels it as a BIRD.
Later the child sees an airplane and labels it BIRD.
It flies in the sky...so it must be a bird.

We see someone...and we want them to fit into our schema.
We are all the victims and the perpetrators of this crime.

With all the changes that have been happening in the past year or so...I have watched people try to put me in their schemas. They have placed me in their little boxes.

I watched one person fight tooth and nail to keep me there.  They didn't want to see the real Stephanie...they couldn't handle it in fact.
I lost a relationship because I wasn't the person he thought I was.
I have had people tell me what I was thinking.  And why I was doing things and making the choices I was.
People love to put words in my mouth and thoughts into my head.

They like to think they know me.
You don't know a thing about me!

You want to know me??  Want to understand me for reals??
Allow yourself to accommodate. Let yourself create new schemas.

Dear Considerate (and inconsiderate) Boys

Your mama raised you right!
Or maybe she didn't.
Or maybe she tried and you are just an inconsiderate person by nature.

But really, lets break it down.

The guy who shows up at my house to help me with my car at 5:30 AM (even though I needed the help in the PM) that is a considerate guy.

My mom AND my dad reared (you're welcome Mrs Fischer:9th grade English teacher..."Chickens are raised, humans are reared!") us to be polite and kind.

When I called someone needing a ride and explained how my car was not working...did that person ask "what can I do?"  NOPE!  Like really?  Did you not say anything

My dad...and my mom too...would NEVER have let that happen.
My dad would have said "Lets pop the hood"  And my mom would have said "Lets call my husband and he can check it out"

Even if there is NOTHING they could have actually done..they would have put forth any effort they could to help.

Dear Home Teachers EVERYWHERE

Its kinda like a dear boys...but with a twist!

So Ok... Let's be totally honest.

Home teaching in a single's branch/ward is AWKWARD!!!

[Before I rant...let me explain to those who may not know.  Home teaching is a program in our church where 2 gentleman are assigned to families (however that family may be organized) and provide help.  This help comes in spiritual upliftment as well as service]

Its weird.  The guys are awkward..and you are awkward.
And you sit down and they are staring at you.
And you hardly know them and they want to know all about your life.

And they always pick the MOST INCONVENIENT (for you...but most convenient for them) time to see you (aka...the LAST Sunday of the month)

Its just weird.  And honestly more often then not is NOT helpful.

But it doesn't HAVE to be.
There is a reason for it.

I have had dozens of home teachers in the past 5 years of my singlehood.
Most have been icky.

But a few really helped me.

One brought me ice cream and smoothies the nights before my big tests.
One companionship randomly left notes and/or cookies on my door step just to make my day better
One companionship decided to come the next Sunday, even though it meant they wouldn't get to count their visit, because I was so crazy busy. (So nice to not feel like just a check-off).

I used to hate the program and would just wish I didn't have to have home teachers.

But now..I don't have any.  I was told that other people need home teachers more than me.
Other people need access to the priesthood, service, a friend, and assistance more than me.
I guess they feel my level of activity in the church makes me immune to all the things home teachers could give me. (don't even get me started hahaha!)

Well I must have stopped going to church and not noticed, cause guess what?
Since my home teachers have been taken away, I have needed at least 10 blessings priesthood blessings, several car jumps and HUNDREDS of kind words of concern and comfort.

So now you ask "why didn't you call someone else?"  Ummmm....like who??
Home teachers are like mandatory friends.  I don't feel comfortable calling anyone else.  And even if I don't feel super comfortable calling my home teachers...its easier to call them, cause they "have" to help me.

There is a reason for this program.
And it breaks my heart to know, that I am not able to get anything from it.

I guess the point of this little rant is that...well, I guess I have a testimony of this program now.

And to all home teachers out there... Please take care of your people.  Please see it as not only a priesthood responsibility, but as an honor.  You are a stand in for the Lord.
If He could fix my car or tell me EXACTLY what to do, He would.
But because of the way things are...He can't.  So come fix my car, and come give me a blessing.

I don't know if you know how grateful we, your home teachees, are for that.

Sometimes........................

If you haven't noticed, I've been a little more absent on my blog lately.  Its because I don't like being silly and girly or super stressed or bummed on my blog.
I know its kinda backwards...but I don't want to have a whiny blog.
Ranting about bad things is different then being bummed about them.

Ranting=anger=emotion that is accessible
Bummed=sad=difficult emotion to access

So now I will do my best to say what I want to say...and not be moody.  Or whiny.  Or too pathetic.  Or too overly sentimental/romantic/dreamy/unrealistic

READY OK!

Life is rough sometimes.

Sometimes you have so much going on things fall through the cracks.
Sometimes you are scared out of your mind.
Sometimes you can't get yourself motivated
Sometimes people are mean
Sometimes people let you down

Sometimes your sink leaks, your apartment is too hot...or too cold and you have what appears to be an infestation of silver fish
Sometimes the check engine light comes on
Sometimes you break your favorite headband and 30 seconds later your favorite clip

Sometimes you get a paper cut that hurts for days
Sometimes you spend hours on a project that won't even be graded
Sometimes you hate your job
Sometimes you are tired...and you have a headache
Sometimes you are feel alone...completely on your own.

Sometimes it seems like nothing can go right.
That you can't catch a break.

Here's the part where I would normally say...and then it gets better.
But sometimes it doesn't.

And then you feel bad cause you should have more faith.
And if you just believed it would all go away.

I feel like this is kind of a pity party.
But please don't take it as that.

Please take it as an outstretched hand.
You feel like this too sometimes....its ok.
We'll pull through...someday

Cause maybe I don't have enough faith to make the fear and heartache go away.
But I do have enough to know that it will go away eventually.

And until then I will call my mom, curl up under my covers, listen to my book on tape, and fall asleep...to hopefully wake up to a day not as bad as the past several weeks

cause it prolly wont...
enjoy this honest...but not melancholy song :)  And feel better bloggy friends!

Pinterest Rant

Maybe its a little cowardly...but I'd rather have pinterest say what I am feeling tonight rather than myself

Cause courage doesn't always roar

When people act stupid or treat you wrong...
You leaving proves you are stronger than them.
Never stoop to that level.

It only took me 23 years to learn that...but at least I have now.

I am cranky...maybe its cause I'm tired....maybe its cause I'm hungry.... maybe its cause I'm a girl and therefore constantly hormonal.

Or maybe it is because sometimes people in my life drive me crazy.
They aren't always kind.  They aren't always supportive.
They often just make me crazy.

So let me share a few things I would like to say.

here is a song to provide some background music.....
and don't judge ;)
Yes this song came up on my shuffle while I was writing this post :D
(my smiles and winks are not helping to share my cranky mood...trust me I AM! Just maybe not quite blood thirsty yet.)

you...not ya. and please don't eliminate the g's at the end of words.
a few extra letters is not going to take that long in a text message

Alright......Rant over. I feel much less cranky.

O. MY. GOSH.

Oh good grief!  The amount of things I could write about today!!!!
Sooo soooo much has happened!
Totally wack-a-doodle stuff!!!!
LIKE OH MY GOSH SERIOUSLY!!!!!!

I don't even know what to say.....

Here is my day....in random thoughts/quotes

If you can follow it you are extremely talented!

"Can you drive to Panama?" "Yeah its 14 hours"  "UMMMM SPRING BREAK!!!!"

"Thats a ROCK!  Whose is it?"  "Well since its on my hand...I think its mine"

"You know I'm planning your wedding right?"

Its called a slanket cause it is a blanket with sleeves.....don-ev'n

Saying "You know we love you" doesn't make it better or ok

Interestingly if said firmly enough you can get a guy who won't shut up to cut it out with a simple "Drop it!" followed by a very evil glare

No canary in a cage for me!

I'm getting a dog

"Awww my phone is dying!  Now I have to plug in and be attached to the wall!!!"

"Looking good is messy business"  "I know right?  Every Sunday I come home to a messy room from my morning of prepping"

After giving a lesson today about not forgetting.  I'm trying to forget.  Go figure!

My exasperated look about today!!!!!

My Thoughts on Today...V-Day

Truth time!  I hate this day!
And it is not because I am single.  I have lots of love in my life and don't have much to complain about in that respect :)
So stop thinking that I am a bitter pathetic girl who throws Anti-Valentines Day parties
(PS this was not a particularly wonderful movie in case you were considering it..kinda dull)

As I told my dad the other day....I can't move to [insert place name here]...because I am not bitter and pathetic and old enough (yet..not all a the same time yet).  I'm not ready to totally "give up" just yet.
Although I was told the other day that if I get to 24 and am still single I should throw myself off a cliff.  (interesting solution) So perhaps my situation is more dire than I realize ;)

I have always hated this day (and by always I mean ever since we stopped having parties at school and I stopped giving out princess valentines).
And I will likely ALWAYS hate this day.
Its dumb...so lets be honest about it.

Do we need a day that we tell everyone we love that we love them?
Shouldn't we be doing that everyday?

Where are the people who insist we make every day Christmas day????
Why aren't they talking about Valentines Day?

We should be telling people we love them EVERY DAY!!!
Lets make EVERYDAY Valentines Day!!!
Tell them ALL THE TIME!!!
And not with flowers and candy.

And while we are on the subject, may I ask why society picked flowers and candy?
I mean I love flowers (particularly from a guy flowers) and candy (especially of the chocolate variety) as much as the next girl.
But flowers die
And candy makes you sick/get cavities/get fat/develop diabetes.

So what does that say about love????? ;)
I'm just saying     hahaha

But despite my fundamental issue with this silly holiday, I guess I will take advantage of it.

I tell my "close people" that I care all the time.  But in case I haven't told you in a while.  I do :)
I love you for being the bright moments in my life.
Friends and family...near and far.  You make every day a little easier and a little more happy!

But you know who I don't tell I love them enough.  You guys.  My readers.  Sorry for the sappy moment there...kinda cheesy ICK!

But I really do appreciate you guys.  You make my day when you comment and "react".  I throw a tiny party every time I get a new follower.  And my day is instantly magical when I see super high stats.

So thank you guys!  And Happy Valentines Day!!!!!!!!

want to hear my favorite love song right now????
I think I like it cause its cute and sweet...but to me...its not that cheesy. Just fun :)

Enjoy! AND HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
