Theme Song Thursday: Cry

I use this blog for an place for me to get it all out.
Honest, bare bones.

In real life-reality-I think through what I say.  I process my emotions, and act appropriately.

Here....hahahahahahahahaha...it all hangs out here!
Its the x-rated version of my mind/emotions hahahahahahahahahahaha

So naked moment?
From a little bit ago....I just need to get it out.

They say she looks happy...she seems happy.
Score one for her..cause she is faking it good!!!!

Cause she is pretending like she's ok with it...
like there's nothing wrong.

When they ask...she tells them they grew apart...moved on.
That she doesn't care, that she is fine.
She pretends to not see their stares...sizing her up.
Trying to determine how she feels.
How what the news they just delivered has effected her.
She pretends to not hear the thoughts in their minds, shown so clearly on their faces.

When she sees them together..she closes her eyes,
praying for it to end soon.
Trying to swallow her pride and bite her tongue.
Who would have thought it would be this hard.
She never imagined...
who would have thought it would make her cry.

its not the best quality...but I like the rawness of this version best

Too bad I couldn't fix it.  Too bad I couldn't make it better.
All I could do was watch as the tears flowed down her face, her mascara running,
mixing with the flush of her cheeks and nose.
All I could do was grab the tissues, which gradually went from their place, neatly folded and clean in the box, to a soggy, crumpled pile by her side.
All she could do was sob and occasionally mutter..."I'm such a mess"
No idea what she did wrong.  No idea why things happened the way they did.

But no matter what.  Nothing was going to change it.
There was nothing anyone could do.
No one could put back together the shattered pieces.
No one but her.

And only time would do that.
And even with time....the cracks still are there.

But she hides them well.  Cause no one can really tell.
Good job honey.

I know its hard to hide.  Its hard to

Thoughtful Tuesday

I am a firm believer in the whole forgive, but never forget idea.

Maybe I'm wrong.  But I have found I can be over something...but still be kinda hung up on it sometimes.
Maybe that means I'm not over it completely. But in comparison-I sure am!!
I'm an obsessive neurotic, which means if something happened, its all I can do to NOT think about it.
So when I stop thinking about it constantly-and only occasionally consider it---SCORE!!!  haha

With a few things that have happened in the past couple of days...I have been wondering.  Having some questions.  New info opened old wounds.  Month old wounds....Year old wounds.
I'm over the guys for sure.  But over the hurt, the mild insecurity, and questions.  Not so much......

When crucial people leave...what person doesn't wonder why?
If you didn't wouldn't it kinda invalidate their place of importance in your life?

And since they are gone...we can't exactly ask them can we................

So we put words in their mouths and thoughts into their minds.
We attempt to force meaning on every action, every look, every word said.

We try to make sense of it all.  But we never succeed.
So we blame ourselves.  Cause that we can make sense of.
Our actions, our looks, our words....that we can control...those we can determine the meaning of.

But after a while even that runs out.

And we are left questioning....what made me unbeautiful? Something that I said....something that I did?

04- Unbeautiful by Lesley Roy .::© Www.JiGhil.Com ::. on Grooveshark

How did we go from late night heart to hearts under pine trees to you LITERALLY avoiding me like the plague?
When did I go from the girl you were falling for to the girl you never called?
What happened to the talk of dogs...and children...and future plans?
How did we go from BEST FRIENDS...to never EVER speaking?
Why, when I threw myself into us...you turned away?

What did I do wrong?

Too bad the answers will never come.

Guess I'm not really over it.

So for now we will rock out to Lesley Roy and eat some chocolate.

Wow-What a Weekend!

This weekend was truly amazing.  I was so blessed to be able to travel to St Louis and hear Elder David A Bednar speak on 3 different occasions.

Before I gush about my feelings on the event....let me explain to anyone who might be confused as to why this was so amazing.

When Jesus Christ lived on the earth, he called 12 Apostles to lead his church.  In the early days of Christianity, these Apostles were martyred.  In 1835, the Lord called 12 men to fill these roles once again.  And ever since, we have had apostles leading the world.
One of these men right now is Elder David A Bednar.
The likelihood of seeing an apostle in real-life in person, leading a regional meeting (aka stake conference) is SUPER SUPER low.

So I was super lucky to be able to head down to stay with my family and hear him speak.

Of course I can't say much.  The things I learned and the things I felt are personal and specific to me-and might not apply to you.

I felt so much power and peace from the meetings.  I was able to have a chance to shake  the hands of both Elder Bednar, and Elder Hilliar (a member of the 6th quorum of the 70, and a regional leader).  I got such a strong feeling that they are both called of God and the words they spoke were true.  They were the words God wanted me to hear.

That feeling was truly the most pervasive of the weekend.

I also learned a great deal about what I need to do to be a better person and to grow spiritually in my life.

I would like to share my favorite insight that was shared.  We talk a lot about the healing power of the Atonement and the cleansing power of the Atonement.  But have we ever thought about the strengthening power of the Atonement?

I personally always think of the Atonement helping me through hard times by giving me peace.  Its more than that.  It can help us get through our trials.  Pretty great right???

Just a thought...read Mosiah 24 .  (This is a book in the Book of Mormon, another book of scripture in our church).  Its really great.

(Just a side note for all my readers....if you EVER EVER EVER have any questions about my faith and beliefs...please ASK!  I LOVE LOVE LOVE to answer questions!)

The Famous Stephanie

First off..Happy St Patty's Day!!!!  Don't forget to wear green....and eat green stuff!!!

Today's post is going to be slightly introspective.

Recently I have been told I'm intimidating, and trouble.
And then last night I met someone new for the first time and got the response "Oh so you are the famous Stephanie"

Uh oh!  What exactly does that mean?  Honestly it really just meant this kid heard someone else call me Stephanie haha.

But it made me think.  Am I famous?  And for what?
When I mentioned it to my dad he responded "You sure he didn't mean infamous!?"
Thanks dad!!

But really.

Apparently I am "trouble".
Trouble by Travis Tritt on Grooveshark
I create issues with my being a girl..with the style and personality I have....apparently.

And I am famous.  But again I ask...for what??
Hopefully I am famous for being kind...not trouble.

I mean I suppose there is a benefit to being the top banana in the shock department (name that movie!!!)
But I still don't want to be trouble haha

BUCKLE UP KIDS!!!!

Its gonna be a WILD RIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you guys ready for this?  Tonight I met "The Other Women"

I got the whole story.  And she got my story.
Enough of this he said she said...we got it right from the horses mouth!!!!

The details don't really matter.  But I know you all want to know them.

Here is the fast undetailed bunch of details.
I met him on the 21st.  We kinda sort of were dating on the 29th.  Last time I saw him was the 6th.  Last time we really talked...hard to say but prolly around the 13th.  He and her reconnected on the 18/20th (ish).  I tried to reconnect the 29th. (FAILURE!) He blocked me on the 16th.  I realize I need to give up around the 30th (over 2 months after I should have)
Fast forward to the 26th...I find out about the other women.  The 28th I get more info and am hurt but fine.  I forget and move on.  Then the 16th.....I meet her.

AND I ADORE HER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kinda wacky I know.  But I really am fine.  I think she is a sweetheart.  Someone I would be best friends if she lived around here.  Soul sisters for sure....who have similar interests (OH DEAR...that is WAY too literal hahaha)

It was really perfect that I met her.  Especially right now.
I had gotten a little closure and I got even more tonight.
I was able to make a new friend.
And I really was able to realize how over it all I am.

I was driving home and I couldn't stop smiling.  I felt elated.  Maybe its the church meeting (with Elder Bednar more on that later), but I think it was really realizing I DONT care!

It was freeing and refreshing.

They say you've gotta kiss a lot of frogs till you find your prince.
And Farm Boy was just one more frog.

And I have learned a lot from this....lessons have been learned...and I am a stronger better girl now.
And thats all that really matters :)

HOLY COW!!!

I mean really who wouldn't LOVE a show that has, as a guest star, one of the LOVES OF MY LIFE???
Don't judge...he's cute...and rich...and can sing...and play the guitar....and the drums  And he's CUTE!

The One Where I Play a DANG Fool

So in case you didn't know.  I am OBSESSED with Friends.  Everytime I see the last episode I cry.  I feel like I am losing my friends!  :(
I have seen many of them (not all) at least 5/6/7/8 times,
(these comments simply explain my title AND future "life update" titles)

Last night I drove with some GREAT friends to O'Fallon, IL for a dinner theater/masquerade ball put on by their young single adults group.  It was a good time.  But honestly more fun was had in the ridiculous attitude had by the girls in our car (that carried onto the event..and after the event!!!) The insane laughter from the moment we got there...the CRAZY dance moves. (seriously we can BUST IT!) We kept up the funny for a while.  But I've gotta say....when 1 AM rolled around..followed by 2 AM (which turned into 3 AM thanks government!!!) our funny kinda stopped.
Lets just say we were all a little hung over at church today.

So here is a little bit of a glimpse....the QUOTES OF THE NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"That one over there isn't UNattractive"
while scoping out our prospects ;)

"Toothpaste doesn't break your fast"
while discussing the importance of personal hygiene in the gentleman friends we have

"He tooted his horn"
after seeing a boy roaming around with a saxophone

"My spiritual level resides in the fast lane"
after a convo about how we aren't spiritually advanced enough to stop speeding Sorry Elder Reall

"Do we know the guy in the paper bag?
does this need explanation?

"They can smell infertility!"
ummmm...yeah

"Who wouldn't want my life?- character in the play;
ME! You're weird-response of audience member

"I have father figure issues"
does she mean daddy issues?

"There are a lot of papers falling out today!  Yeah has anyone heard of a paper clip???"
speaking of the papers all the characters in the play kept finding around the house incriminating each other

"That song makes me want to jump off a bridge!"
Bruno Mars' Just the Way You Are

"Swamp lover?  Again...RED FLAG!!!"

"I'm in a sorority ok!!!!"
to justify a back bend pose

"I wish I could get you drunk.  You would be that girl up on the bar"
Thanks Ben!

"I have limited mobility in this dress.  That means I have to dance like a lady.  DANG IT!"

Green Polo Shirt.  I want to Flirt!
To the tune of red solo cup...yes that did just happen.  roll with it!

"Slow songs get you married"
"Fast song make guys really not want to get your number"

SO MUCH FUN!!!!!!!
I acted like a fool...and LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT!!!!

Just the Way You Are

What I am about to write isn't new.
You have heard it before.
In songs...(thank you Bruno Mars)...In ad campaigns (thank you Dove)
And tons of motivational speakers have told you.

You are beautiful.  Just the way you are.  Despite your imperfections

But here is my question...how many times has your mom, your teacher or youth group leader?
Prolly just a little less then the motivational speakers.

Better question....how many times has your dad, your brother, your guy friend your girl friend, your sister?

Here is the problem I see.  We all hear we are beautiful from people who don't know us.  How easy is it to write that off?  And then we hear we are beautiful from those who are supposed to tell us....mom's, youth group leaders, and boyfriends. Again easy to write off!

But what about all the people who you don't expect.  A really good friend.  A big sister.  A guy you have been friends with for forever.
How much more would it mean if your dad or brother told you?
Maybe it wouldn't mean more to you.  But I think for most of us it would!

It basic psychology that when someone you admire or look up to tells you something it carries more weight.

So my message today is not that you are beautiful....although you are...not despite your imperfections...BECAUSE of them!!!!!!!!

Freckles by Natasha Bedingfield on Grooveshark

But even more important is a message to those people of influence.  Those people who aren't "supposed to say that".

Tell your anyone you have influence over.
They are beautiful.  Because of their imperfections..not in spite of them!!!!
And tell them to stop listening to anyone that tells them otherwise!!!!

Style:A definition

I love to go shopping.  For myself...but even more for others.  (seriously get to pick things out but spend no money!!!!)

I also love it because it means I get to help people decide what their style is.

So what is style??  (at least according to This Silly Girl hehe)

Style is an equation.
Its a combination of body type, coloring, comfort level,  personality.

First: Body Type.  Don't be wear something that doesn't work for you body.  This could be fabrics, patterns, cuts.  And lots of times it takes a little trial and error.  I know I can't wear straight legged pants...I need a flare.  I've just learned this.  My style includes pants with a t least a little flare.

Second: Coloring.  What colors look good on you?  I can't pull off blue eye shadow or bright red lipstick (usually)  I look ok in most colors, but orange can be difficult.

Third: Comfort Level.  Above the knee, below the knee? Fabrics, tightness.  We are just talking about psychological comfort.  We are also talking about physical comfort.  Its a combination of both.

Fourth: Personality.  Bo-ho, classic, sporty??  there are a million styles and they all go with your personality. What you find important...what you are drawn to

Remember your style is inside and out.
It doesn't matter what you wear...just as long as it is clean.  And neat.  And fits YOU and YOUR style!!!

So what is my style????

Advice From a Big Sis

First off...HELLO to any blog hoppers from Vintage Wanna Bee

my readers...check out Nichelle...she's a DOLL!!!!

Jane and I went to lunch today!  I love Jane.  She is so fun!  She doesn't bring me down, or make me feel crummy....the KEY to a good friend!

I was telling her the story of Farm Boy to illustrate some lessons about dating.

And it got me thinking about advice I like to give to my little sisters...adopted and real.

So Jane my love....here are some more tips ;)  <3 Lizzy :P

1. Never go for the guy who checks you out or calls you hot.  They are bad news!

2. Never make excuses for boys...just dump them (see http://sillyswilly.blogspot.com/2011/09/hes-just-not-that-into-you.html)

3. Never rebound.  It can help you get over the first guy..but you just get stuck on the second

4. Invest in at least one really good push up bra...it can be used whenever you need a little confidence boost! (sorry if thats tmi hehe)

5. Pick a scent for each guy you are working on and wear it every time you are around them.  Smell is a powerful thing!

6.  You know what else is powerful?  The smile across the room.  Eye contact...smile...and look away.  Drives 'em crazy ;)

7. Utilize the elbow touch.  Also works!  oh and if you wanna play in the big leagues?  knee touch...just saying

8. Never read the food label.  Ok so that prolly isn't smart.  But don't get caught up in calories.

9. Don't give out kisses like pretzels...you can get too easily invested

10. Your life is too short to spend it with people who tear you down...only be around those who bring you up.

11. Eye makeup..dark on the outside and light on the inside is an easy and quick trick

12. Have a pair of jeans with buttons on the back pockets.  So you won't always have to carry a purse when you go out.

13. Invest in a fake engagement ring.  You never know when you are going to need it.

14. After a break up...GET MAD.  Everytime you miss him!  Or consider taking him back.  This will prevent the pathetic "I miss you" texts.  Mad is good

15. Wanna lighten your hair?  Blondes...lemon juice+sun  Brunettes....cranberry juice+sun

16. Look good for you...if you wanna look hot.  DO IT.  But never for a boy.  (although warning...more confidence=more boys)

17. If you want to find your prince charming....stop looking.  I mean really stop.  Put it out of your mind.

18. Heels...make your butt look awesome and your legs look long and lean...rock-em

19. Belt shirts/sweaters/dresses on your natural waistline (not your hips) It encourages top and bottom curves :)

20. When making a decision...carry it around like a sweater at the store.  Choose to buy it, but don't check out yet.  See if you change your mind

21. The people who matter don't care....and the people who car don't matter!!!  Remember its about pleasing YOU!!!!!!!!

22. Perfume spots? Wrists, neck (each side) and my secret spot...your HAIR. (leads to a whiff when you flip it hehe)

23. Dirty dancing is fun.  Do it in front of the mirror in your bathroom/bedroom.  And no where else!

24. Remember boys don't pay attention to specifics.  They look at the whole package...aka confidence makes up for a super frumpy outfit!

25.  Dyeing your hair is FUN.  Just a warning though...its addicting.

26.  Speaking of dyeing your hair....do that or bangs when you want a change but don't want a cut that will take forever to grow out.

27. Make a bucket list...and check them OFF!!

28. Don't be afraid of being alone.  You wanna see a movie or check out a new restaurant?  Go alone!

29. You dumped him once for a reason...be cautious about taking him back.  That reason prolly still exists!

30. Stand up for yourself.  Be bold.  Don't let someone say something mean to you/about you.

31. Telling someone off kindly hurts more than yelling.  Be sharp and pointed.  But not coarse.

32. Don't let people mooch off of you.  Helping people is good.  But don't let them take advantage.

33.  Let us all close our knees.  Remember to sit like a lady!!!!
