Gorging yourself on enough sugar to throw you into a diabetic crisis.
Purposely getting scared out of your mind.
An excuse for some to wear an EXTREMELY small amount of clothing.
Not really my thing.
But I do love fall. And the parties are usually pretty decent. And dressing up can be fun.
I've had some pretty great costumes the past few years....
Tin Man...
(this was not pretty to be honest....but it worked well)
We won awards for these ones!!!!
Junior year brought Miss Missouri 1910
Senior year was my goth year (I decided the night of...so don't judge its lameness)
no pic this year. But picture my smileyness with thick black eyeliner, lipstick, nail polish and all black clothes.
I freaked a few people out lets just say!
Nursing school year brought a rocker chick.
I got lots of compliments on this one. Mostly from my gentleman acquaintances.
Maybe it was the tight pants and the 3 inch heel knee high boots.......
(though I looked good...not sure I'm proud of this one!)
THIS YEAR????
Well ladies and gents...allow me to reveal my inspiration...

dear mickey
where were you monday night? i was having a crisis and all i wanted was a hug from you. too bad you don't kick it here in the S-T-izzle.
love
well....me
A moment where I was thrust into a place I have been before.
A place of condescension and mean-ness.
A place of negativity.
It took me by surprise a little bit.
I guess I got a tad complacent.
I started out reacting in my old way....very un-lovely.
My efforts to be lovely are so often thwarted by my desire for...well defending myself.
I always want to speak up and not let people do or say things that are wrong
(not just truth wrong...but not ok wrong)
But last night...I eventually stopped. I just sat. I didn't say a word.
I know people always say be assertive...and yeah that is true.
But when faced with a foe who is trying to bring you down....maybe a little bit of passivity is needed...
Lots has changed. And I've kinda gotten used to all of them.
And now I want something else.
I want the life I've been dreaming about since....eh IDK maybe Sunday??
I don't really know what snapped me into it.
But...want to hear my dream???
Picture this....
Boston, Massachusetts
Home of Boston Children's Hospital
Awarded best Pediatric Cardiology program/care in the nation
A gorgeous brick apartment...that is slightly too expensive but has a balcony with an absolutely gorgeous view.
Weather that requires cute colored coats, wool tights and boots.
Plus throw in a few preppy-dressed boys...and we have ourselves a pretty awesome picture right???
Boston (Album Version) by Augustana on Grooveshark
and I can't get it out of my head.....so that's my dream....I'll see you in a year Boston

Dear Mickey
Can I have a moment to be kind of pathetic? I really want us to
But I do think that the first love is always the most different. For me it was all new and different. I trusted faster and gave more right away. I think the last will be the one I trust the most, and the one I give most slowly. The first love is one you will never forget. The ones in the middle you might. But the first and last are the most special. I think it is because they are the most alike. The first was the one you gave knowingly. The last, the one that you willingly. But hey...what do I know hahaha! Thanks for the thoughts though :) Many have said that your first love is your only true love. That you can't love anyone else as fully because of the first. Kind of a bummer for the last guy isn't it? Is there some sort of subtraction that happens every time you give your heart to someone?? I would like to say strong NO! But I will say that the first love is different
I'm sorry I missed my dear boys post Wednesday....
I got a flu shot Wednesday. And it SUCKED!!!!
It gave me the flu!!!!!
And an arm that is still sore....36 hours later!!!!!
(Yes I am a nurse who DOES NOT believe in the flu shot!)
We will just have to postpone it...cause lets be honest....there are no boys to write about.....
Except my Cardinals...who let me down tonight (or last night), but hopefully tomorrow (today) will be better for them......
But they are real boys.
I am having an interesting night. I get like that at 2 AM.
I was headed to bed at 11:45 PM.
But I played on FB for a while. Then Pinterest.
Decided what clothes my family will wear for our post-mission pictures..and where we will take them.
Then somehow I ended up on YouTube getting the Grey's fix that was denied me tonight (last night) by the VP debate (which lets be honest is actually a rather pointless exercise....)
And I have spent the last...well far to long....watching the story of Lexie and Mark. My favorite Grey's couple......and now I'm all mourning fictional characters...and being jealous of their fictitious love....and listening to sad cheesy love songs.
YES YOU MAY JUDGE ME!!!!
(trust me...I'm even judging me!)
I SO NEED TO GO TO BED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
New theory....girls who are strong and unpathetic during the day are far more prone to become pathetic and pitiful the later it gets.
The World According to THIS Swilly Girl aka TWATTSG (pronounced tee-watt-sss-gugh) (cause that is so much more clear!!!!)
Anyway. Its not like I don't do this already...isn't that simply the nature of a blog???
But these posts will signify that the below musings and opinions are simply that.....OPINIONS and MUSINGS. Not fact...not doctrine...not necessarily truth.
Just what I think. I feel like if I create this series...I won't have to do the whole *disclaimer stuff at the beginnings of posts!
ANYWAYS.....
Lets start with some background.
Background info 1
This past weekend was General Conference. This is a worldwide broadcast of speeches given by the leaders of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (MORMONS!). Twice a year for the whole weekend (four 2 hour sessions) we are able to hear messages concerning doctrine, counsel and other important church information. We believe that these leaders receive direct revelation from God on what they should say and therefore treat the transcripts of these speeches as scripture (just like the Bible) Its a pretty unheard-of notion in modern-day Christianity and is one of my favorite aspects of my religion.
Background info 2
Our church has a rich history and involvement in missionary work. We believe strongly in service and in sharing the message of the Gospel with all who will listen. To facilitate this effort, (single) young men 19-26 are STRONGLY encouraged (never forced of course...but advised and counseled to) spend 2 years serving proselytizing missions. Single women also serve similar proselytizing missions for 18 months from the age 21 up however, less emphasis is placed on their service (basically they are THRILLED to have sisters serve, but they should not feel any obligation). (Older couples also serve...but lets not get into the nitty-gritty of that).
SOOOOO...this weekend President Thomas S Monson, the current prophet and president of the Church announced a change to the above guidelines. Young men now serve ages 18-26 and women ages 19 and up.
Now anyone who has Mormon Facebook friends/Twitter....people (what are Twitter people called???) likely saw this change as social networking sites EXPLODED with everyone getting all in a tizzy.
There were not any obviously negative remarks. Lots of guys feeling like they will have no one to date (so you do admit you are going for the younger ones said bitter 20-something women everywhere!). And many girls published their plans to bang down their bishops doors.
And I am sorry...shoot me...call me unrighteous...but I could NOT understand what all the fuss was about. It seemed to me like everyone was making a big deal out of something relatively small.
But then I pondered. I got off Facebook and focused on what the other speakers had said in regards to the announcement.
They were all grateful. They thought it was monumental.
A scripture we often quote in our church is But the word of the Lord was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go Isaiah 28:13
We believe that this scripture indicates that the Lord teaches us and requires things of us AS WE ARE READY.
This change does not mean that every girl is going to leave at 19. It does not mean that guys will all leave at 18. It means that it is now an option.
It means that young men and women will need to pray, counsel with parents and church leaders. It means that they will need to consider life circumstances, educational plans and financial situations.
And they did this already to a point.
But now the question of when has entered more fully than before.
So I agree with apostles. I am truly grateful for this change (though still hesitant about what it might mean from a social/family perspective).
Because do you know what it means? It means that our youth are so strong that their Heavenly Father trusts them enough to give them more choices. He trusts that they will make the right decision and go about making that decision in the proper way.
And that gives me a lot of confidence.....just saying.
THIS BLOG (seriously I have been "back reading" (yes I realize I should do something with my life like idk get off the couch but...) ) I ADORE these girls. I want to move back to UT just to sleep on their couch and bask in our combined weird/awkward awesomeness. Also the 3 of us could write a book together...and start a business....or a TV show....or have lots of fun.....or all of the above!
Jane Austen (I will blog more about this later..like FOR REALS...SIR-E-OUSLY)
HUMMUS OMGSH!!!!!!!!
THIS SONG I know I have said this before....and it might make me a sinner. but whateves
Aversions:
Answering my phone.....apparently. This is not a conscious aversion. Usually. Some people are in my phone simply so I know not to answer. But usually I honestly don't answer purely accidentally. I'm really bad about leaving my phone in my room. Or in my purse. Or on vibrate.....and I simply don't hear it! sorry erreybody
Feet (other than my own) on my bed. This is not a new thing. Just something I thought I would share.
Getting out of bed while it is still dark dear night shift....I may really like you!
